About Us

Who is VA Mechanical Solutions?

Founded by John Martin, VA Mechanical Solutions leverages the Martin Families 50 plus years of experience in the HVAC Industry to help contractors fulfill contractual requirements for business diversity. VA Mechanical Solutions helps to negotiate and procure equipment and material used in construction projects. VA Mechanical Solutions is a Disabled Veteran Certified Small Business with the SBA. 

John Martin- President

A former serviceman in the US Navy, John Martin was a Heating & Air Contractor for over 50 years.  After coming back from the war, John became an apprentice under his father Art in the family plumbing business. One day while doing a small tract of houses, the AC guy no showed. The builder asked Art who could do it, Art said my kid. That is how John got his start in heating & air. John built his very successful business that bared his name. Serving the San Gabriel valley for over 40 years, he was known as the go to guy. John sold that business in 2020 to retire and slow down a bit. Today he helps as clients require with VA.

Cindy Martin- CFO

Cindy is John's Daughter in Law. A Wife, Mother of 3, is a very successful business woman, Cindy is a very accomplished commercial/industrial Project Management and Procurement Specialist. She has done work in everything from commercial real estate, bio pharmaceutical, and industrial. Known for achieving substantial savings in buying projects out, she has been the key to financially successful projects for some of the industries largest companies. 

F4 Jet Used in Vietnam

John served our country in the US Navy. Working on the flight decks of the USS Midway and USS Ranger, John eventually became a navigator for an F4. John and his pilot "Red" had to eject over Laos, Vietnam after being shot at by enemy aircraft. He was Missing In Action for 13 days. He would later be rescued and after spending time healing would be honorably discharged and receive the prestigious Purple Heart.

The NHRA Days

From 1980 thru 1989 John fielded his Nitro Funny Cars in NHRA competition. Some people golf, for John racing is his passion. Finishing in the Top 10 in NHRA points in 1988, he was known as the last of the independent hitters.
